Whether you operate as a local TV station, radio station, or simply as a local newspaper, you undoubtedly broadcast live due to important, current events. However, these live streams are often hosted on Facebook or YouTube and are only accessible to users of these platforms.
To reach a wider audience, the CMS 4media Live Broadcasts Widget comes to your aid. It allows you to embed previously added live broadcasts to the Multimedia module in the templates of your website (Page builder module). In just 5 minutes, you can add the widget to the homepage of your website, giving your readers the opportunity to access live content from the very beginning of their visit.

The Live Broadcasts Widget consists of two sections: the header and the content.
Header Settings
In the header settings, you can decide what and how it will be displayed on the bar above the live broadcast. If you want the widget to display only the content, you can turn off the header section by clicking the "Show Header" button.

Header Text - you can enter a short text here, such as "Now Live," which will be displayed on the top bar. The header text can also act as a link if you select the "Header Link" option.
Header Link - if you activate this switch, the header text will work as a link. By default (if you leave the field blank), clicking on the header text will redirect the user to a page with all published live broadcasts on the website, e.g., https://demopl.4media.com/live.
Header Icon - if enabled, it will be displayed just before the header text. It will also act as a link, similar to the header text.
Header Menu - with these options, you can decide whether additional functions should appear in the header:
- Menu Element - on the left or right side, determining where the control icons and "See More" icon will be placed. If on the left, they will appear just behind the header text.
- Navigating Icons (left and right arrows) - users can scroll through the widget's content (when displaying at least a few items).
- "See More" Icon - displays a chain link icon, and when clicked, it redirects users to a page with all the published live broadcasts on the website.
Content Settings
In the content settings, you can decide whether you want to display a single live broadcast in the widget or multiple broadcasts in the form of tiles. In the first case, the livestream will play directly in the widget. In the second case, when a user clicks on a tile, they will be redirected to a subpage with the live stream and can watch it there.
You can make this decision by using the "Show Player with Selected Livestream" button.

Show Player with Selected Livestream - if you activate this switch, a list of live broadcasts published in the Multimedia module will appear. From this list, you can choose one material to be broadcasted through the widget.
If you want to display several video materials in one widget, leave the "Show Player with Selected Livestream" switch inactive (grayed out). In that case, the following options will appear:

Number of Livestreams - max. 30; determines the number of video broadcasts that can be displayed in the widget.
Shorten Titles - each live broadcast sent through the Multimedia module must have a title. If the title is long, you can shorten it by using the options available in the drop-down list (shorten titles to 1, 2, 3, or 4 lines).
Display update date - displays the date and time of the live broadcast's publication on the website.
Show Number of Positive Reactions (Thumbs Up) - displays the number of positive ratings (thumbs up) given by users on the live broadcast subpage.
Show Number of Comments - displays the number of comments posted by users on the live broadcast subpage.
Show Number of Views - displays the total number of views on the live broadcast.
Show "See More" Button Below the List - allows you to choose the appearance and text of the button that will be displayed below the video materials. When clicked, it redirects to a page with all the published live broadcasts on the website, e.g., https://demopl.4media.com/live.
Text Placement in Relation to Photo - allows you to choose one of the five graphical layouts for the text (header, date of publication, number of views, etc.) and the image (thumbnail).
Column Layout, Lines Layout, and Preview
In the content settings of the Live Broadcasts Widget, you will also find options for column and row layouts. Any changes made in these settings can be previewed in the Preview section at the bottom of the widget configuration window.
If you want to achieve the best visual effect, take a moment to try out various layouts to match the widget's appearance to your preferences. The fields that have the most significant impact on how the tiles in the widget are displayed are:
- Number of Live Broadcasts.
- Text Placement in Relation to Photo.
See the screenshot below for an example of how the widget can look:
- Number of Live Broadcasts = 2.
- Text Placement in Relation to Photo = above the image.
- Columns Layout = 2 columns.
- Number of Elements in Column 1 = 1.
- Number of Elements in Column 2 = 1.

Column and row settings are not available if you activate the "Show Player with Selected Livestream" switch.
