List of Boards
Upon entering the Boards module in CMS 4media, you'll see a list of boards with information:
- Photo
- Category in which the board was published
- Board upload date
- Emission start date
- Emission end date
- Status (green color - active, red color - inactive)
In the "Actions" column, the following actions are available:
- Edit - allows you to go to the board editing section and change its settings
- Delete - moves the board to the trash
Adding a new board
By clicking on the plus icon on the left side above the list of boards, you go to the page for adding a new board.
You need to fill in the title and assign a category to the board. Additionally, you can add a link to which the graphic will lead and change the start and end emission dates or set an inactive status.
Title - name your board in a way that you can later recognize it on the list of boards in the module. The board title is not displayed in the widget, but it's always better to use meaningful and orderly names.
Categories - choose a category from the dropdown list to which you will assign the newly added board. You can create categories in the Categories module.
Link - if you paste a link here, the board displayed in the widget will redirect the user to the specified URL when clicked.
Additional display time - if the added board should have a different display time (e.g., longer), enter the value in seconds in the Additional display time field. The default display time for all boards is set in the Settings -> Boards module.
Emission start date - the date from which the board's display on the website is counted.
Emission end date - here you set the date when the board should stop being displayed on the website.
Active - this switch allows displaying the board in the Boards widget. If you uncheck it, the board will still be visible in the Boards module, but it cannot be selected for display in the widget.
In the settings for the Main Photo, you can upload an image or graphic from your device's disk, which will be displayed as the board.
- Main photo in JPG or PNG format. The minimum image size is 540x540px, but it is recommended to upload images with a width of at least 1500 px. The maximum file size is 10MB.
- Choose from the file library - by clicking this button, the CMS 4media File Library will open, from which you can choose a previously added image or upload a new one and select it at this step.
- Choose a file from the device - opens the file selection and upload window from the device's disk.
- Photo ALT text (otherwise: alt attribute, alternative text) – to concisely convey what is in the picture. It positively affects the page's positioning and is also helpful for people with visual impairments.
- Photo author - if you fill in this field, information about the photo author may be displayed below the board in the widget.
- Photo description – a description visible below the main photo.
- Photo source - information entered here may be displayed below the board in the Boards widget.
Board display settings
In the global display time settings for boards, there are settings for all boards, as well as for those published in specific categories (board categories can be created in the Categories module). You will find these settings in the Settings -> Boards module.
You can set:
- Effect - intermingling or scrolling.
- Animation rate - expressed in seconds; this is the time in which the animation is played.
- Delay - expressed in seconds; the time for which the board is displayed.
