Subpages Widget

Need to add shortcuts to subpages on your news website? Use the Subpages widget for this purpose. Select the subpages you want to display, choose the presentation style, save, and you're done!

The Subpages Widget in CMS 4media allows you to add a list of subpages to your website. You can use the widget by adding it, for example, to the sidebar in the article template or at the bottom of the page, creating an additional menu that you can name, for instance, "Privacy"

Adding the Widget

You can use the widget multiple times – you can add it several times within the same page template, as well as use it in other templates (multiple times as well).

To add the widget to the template, go to the Page builder module. There you'll find a list of templates whose design and layout you can modify. Just click on the template name or the "Edit" button to enter the layout creator.

When the template content is displayed, you will see all the widgets that have been added to it. To add a new one, click the "+ Add item" button in the desired location. This will open a window with the widget library. Choose the Subpages widget to access the widget settings.

If you want to change the position of the widget, you can do so later by dragging it to another location.

Header Settings

By default, header settings are turned off. To activate the display of this section, click the "Show header" button. Then, hidden subsections will expand: Header Text, Header Link, and Header Icon.

You can decide whether to display or hide each subsection by clicking the corresponding button, such as "Link active."

  • Header Text – a short text you enter here will be displayed on the header bar, a rectangular bar highlighted with color (text color and background color can be changed in the advanced widget design settings by clicking the "Widget Design" button). It can also act as a link if you activate and fill in the Header Link.
  • Header Link – allows you to link the Header Text. You can paste any link here.
  • Header Icon – if you activate this option, an icon will be displayed before the Header Text. It can also act as a link if you activate the Header Link.

Content Settings

In the content settings of the Subpages widget, you can choose which subpages to display and in what order.

List Design – from the drop-down list, you can choose one of two layouts: vertical list or horizontal list. The vertical list will display subpages one below the other, while the horizontal list will resemble, for example, the main menu on a website.

Select the subpages you want to be displayed in the widget by clicking on the empty, white checkbox (square).

You can also change the order of displayed subpages on the list by dragging them up or down. To do this, hover your mouse cursor over the arrow icon, click and hold the left mouse button, and drag it to the position where you want the subpage to be. Release the left mouse button to "drop" the subpage.
