Running a news website involves daily publication of dozens or even hundreds of pieces of information. It's no wonder that important things sometimes quickly disappear from the homepage, and users don't always know how to access the content they're interested in by navigating through the category menu, for example.
In such situations, you may consider adding an additional search bar widget, which you can place in any page template.

Adding the Widget
In CMS 4media, you can add the search widget multiple times within the same page template. You can design, for example, a sidebar in the Articles - list page template, where each widget is set to search in a different module.
To add the widget, go to the Page Builder module and select the template you want to edit (click on the template name or the "Edit" button). The template content will open, showing the layout of widgets.
Click the "+Add Item" button - the widget library will open. Locate the Search Bar Widget and click on it. A window with widget settings will appear.

Header Settings
When the Search Widget configuration settings window opens, the header section will be disabled by default. Activate it by clicking the "Show Header" switch. Then, the header section content will expand, and you will be able to see elements, as shown in the screenshot below:

- Header Text - you can enter a short, multi-word text here, e.g., "Search Latest News", “Find Company” etc. It will be displayed on the header bar above the search bar (the field where portal users will enter their queries). If you activate the Header Link, it can function as a link.
- Header Link - allows you to link the Header Text. Simply paste any link into the "Link" field.
- Header Icon - allows displaying an icon before the Header Text. It will function as a link if you activate the Header Link. You can change the icon by selecting a different one from the CMS 4media built-in icon library (you can open the list of available icons by clicking on "Choose Icon").
Content Settings
In the content settings, you'll choose the module for default searching. When you click on the dropdown list, you'll see the available modules to choose from.

Among the available modules are all those that allow content publication. These include:
- Articles
- Subpages
- Events
- Photo Galleries
- Business Directory
- Classifieds
- Multimedia (Audio Materials, YouTube Materials, Video Materials, Live Broadcasts)
- Authors
After entering a query in the search bar, users will be redirected to the search results page. Above the results list, they will see additional settings and filters they can use if they want to modify their query or search other modules.
